FAQ

Everything You Need to Know

WILL YOU MAKE ME DO SOMETHING WITH WHICH I AM NOT COMFORTABLE?

Hypnosis is a collaborative process that requires the active participation and consent of the person being hypnotised. It's essential to remember that in a therapeutic or professional setting, a certified and ethical hypnotherapist will always prioritise your safety, well-being, and comfort.

During hypnosis, you remain in control of your thoughts, actions, and behaviors. A hypnotherapist may offer suggestions to help you achieve specific goals or address certain issues, but you ultimately have the power to accept or reject those suggestions based on your comfort level.

If you are considering hypnosis for any reason, it's crucial to seek out a qualified and reputable hypnotherapist to ensure that you feel safe and comfortable throughout the process. Communication and trust between you and the hypnotherapist are essential for a positive and effective hypnosis experience.

WHAT DOES HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?

Hypnosis is a unique and subjective experience, so people may describe it differently based on their individual perceptions. However, there are some common sensations and feelings reported by those who have experienced hypnosis:

  1. Deep Relaxation: Many individuals feel deeply relaxed during hypnosis. It's often compared to the feeling of being in a calm and meditative state.

  2. Heightened Focus: While in a hypnotic state, people often experience a heightened sense of focus and concentration on the hypnotist's voice or the specific imagery they are guided to imagine.

  3. Altered Awareness: Hypnosis can create an altered state of consciousness, where individuals may feel detached from their surroundings or have a sense of being in a different mental state.

  4. Imagery and Vividness: People undergoing hypnosis may experience enhanced imaginative capabilities, making mental images seem more real and vivid.

  5. Time Distortion: Some individuals report that time seems to pass differently during hypnosis. It may feel shorter or longer than the actual duration of the session.

  6. Suggestibility: Hypnosis can increase a person's openness to suggestions from the hypnotist, which can be used for therapeutic purposes or to create positive changes in behavior.

  7. Emotional Shifts: Some individuals may experience shifts in emotions during hypnosis, such as increased feelings of happiness, calmness, or even releasing suppressed emotions.

  8. Heightened Sensory Perception: In certain cases, people may become more attuned to their senses, perceiving sounds, smells, or physical sensations more intensely.

It's essential to note that hypnosis is natural and safe. While some individuals may achieve deeper levels of hypnosis than others, it is generally characterized by relaxation, focused attention, and heightened suggestibility. The experience can vary from person to person and can depend on the skill of the hypnotherapist, the individual's receptivity, and their ability to relax and let go.

Will i be able to wake up if i want to?

Yes, you will be able to wake up from hypnosis whenever you want to. Hypnosis is not a state of unconsciousness or sleep; it is a state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility. While in a hypnotic state, you are still aware of what is happening around you, and you retain control over your thoughts and actions.

If at any point during a hypnosis session you wish to end the experience or open your eyes, you can do so easily. You are not trapped in hypnosis, and you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state whenever you desire. Your ability to come out of hypnosis is a natural and automatic process.

A reputable and ethical hypnotherapist will ensure that you understand this and will encourage you to communicate openly throughout the session. If you feel uncomfortable or want to stop the session for any reason, you can simply let the hypnotherapist know, and they will guide you back to a fully alert state.
